Learn to Spin Yarn with a Drop Spindle alongside me, in real time.

This is a live session where you will learn how to spin yarn from start to finish using a drop spindle. Nothing is sped up or edited out. You will see exactly how I draft fiber, build a consistent yarn, and ply it into a finished skein, including the parts that don't go perfectly.

You are welcome to spin along with me, or just watch and take notes.

You can ask questions in the chat as we go.

What you will learn

I have been spinning yarn for over 15 years and have taught hundreds of students how to get started with fiber arts.

This session is meant to show you the details that are hard to pick up from short videos or written instructions.

You will learn how to:

• Draft fiber

• Spin a single

• Control twist

• Fix common beginner mistakes

• Ply your yarn

• Wind your yarn into a skein

The goal is for you to understand the process well enough to spin and continue practicing confidently on your own.

A drop spindle kit which includes all the supplies needed for this workshop is available for purchase separately. If you plan to spin along during the workshop, I recommend ordering your kit as soon as possible to allow enough time for shipping.
